  • In this all-encompassing four-week program, you'll embark on a journey learning how to run a studio session using real-world experience. Learn from Matthew DeFreitas, a RIAA multi-platinum sound engineer, who will provide a window into the constantly evolving world of the music industry. You will be learning everything from sound equipment to Protools and applying that knowledge in Grammy award-winning Bay Eight recording Studios Miami. You will master the use of world-class analog equipment like the Sony C800g microphone and the SSL Console, diving deep into the sounds and functionalities that make these tools the top choice of professionals. This program offers a 360-degree view of studio operations, making you proficient in the basics of a studio session while providing an inside view of the music industry.

  • In this intensive program, you'll undertake four weeks of in-studio workshops to go from basic to an adept studio professional. This program takes you further into the ProTools landscape, covering everything from effective tracking techniques to exporting dry and wet stems. You will delve into the art of customized audio mixing, focusing on client-specific needs and mastering industry-standard plugins and techniques. You will have the opportunity to run an actual studio session with real artists. This program offers a full-spectrum understanding of the technical side of being in the studio, teaching you how to manage a session while impressing your clients.

  • Upon acceptance, applicants have the opportunity to apply for a three-month internship at Bay Eight Recording Studios in Miami. This immersive program is designed to accelerate your development as an audio engineer. View the first month as unpaid training where you'll master the intricacies of studio operations, from invoicing and scheduling to maintenance and interactions with major labels. In the second month, you'll transition into the studio to shadow engineers, producers, and songwriters during live recording sessions, gaining hands-on, practical experience. The third month serves as the ultimate stress test, where select students will manage actual sessions with real clients. For those interested in management, this period will also involve live calls with clients and labels, billing, and other administrative tasks essential for running a professional recording studio. Developed over the past seven years, this internship program is a tried-and-true system designed to cultivate top-tier engineers by providing them with real-world training.

  • This advanced apprenticeship program is designed exclusively for promising individuals who excel during the internship phase. In this paid role as a support engineer, you'll undergo an intense, comprehensive training program alongside a Senior Engineer. The goal is to elevate you into the upper echelon of high-performance audio engineers. You'll gain hands-on experience by assisting in sessions for major record labels, under the mentorship of our seasoned Senior Engineers. This program aims to cultivate talents that meet the high demands and fast-paced environment of major recording studios.
